Motorcycle Crash – Blind Intersection
San Rafael, CA, November 2015. The lack of landscaping maintenance at an intersection created unsafe conditions. Turning left to get out of traffic, a woman crossed into the path of a motorcyclist driving at the speed limit. The resulting crash left the victim in a coma for 8 weeks, with severe traumatic brain damage, multiple skeletal fractures and organ damage.

Trip Fall – Unsafe Step
San Rafael, CA, May 2017. While exiting a coffee shop, a customer fell and fractured her right leg in two places. Construction codes had been ignored. There were no markings indicating the two steps down, and no handrails to aid visitors.

Crash Injury – Rear Ended
Contra Cost County, CA, April 2015. While waiting in traffic, a driver was hit from behind by a distracted driver who was not looking at the road ahead. Multiple spinal injuries requiring surgery resulted. The damage was so severe that the victim could no longer continue his landscaping business.
Trip Fall – Unsafe step
Lafayette, CA, May 2014. A Shell station owner used a mobile construction hut in place of a proper building for the cashier and convenience store. The hut was placed on uneven ground and against the inside of a curb, creating an unsafe step condition. On her way out, a customer fell and fractured her leg and ankle.

Pedestrian Injury – Impaired Driver
San Mateo, CA, December 2017. A driver with advanced dementia failed to stop or even slow down, as a pedestrian crossed in front of his car. The victim suffered severe traumatic brain injury and multiple leg fractures.
